2011 Indiana State Fair Opening Day In Pictures

by Brian Groce on August 5, 2011

in Uncategorized

It’s Indiana State Fair time again and Naptown Buzz was there on opening day to check things out!

Here are the best photos of the day.

Food on a Stick!

Pigs are everywhere!

More pigs!

Mmmm…Corn Dogs.

Now we’re talking! Deep fried everything!

Try the deep fried butter if you like cinnamon rolls. The Naptown Buzz Crew has yet to try the Kool-Aid.

Fair Food of the Year: Fried Ice Cream.

Pulled lamb & deep fried mac n’ cheese.

Free ice cream from Turkey Hill. They’re rocking the QR codes this year.

Giant corns.

The UPS mini truck.

Lactation station.

Not sure what this does, but it’s old and cool looking.

Maple Syrup & other goodies at the Hoosier Sugar Shack!

Milk truck.

Music in Pioneer Village.

Closest we got to wood carving today.

Splitting a log to make shingles.

The original “juicer”. (At least that’s our story.)

Free range birds.

The surge bucket milker!

“World’s Largest Flag Collection”.

Fair tram #3.

The buzzing bumble bees are busy at the fair too.

Food goodness, Twitter & QR Codes.

King Taters.

We never knew llamas dressed up for Halloween AND there’s a costume contest for it, but we were thrilled to find that out. In this photo we have Jack Skellington & Zero and some sort of prisoner zombie (from what we could tell).

This llama just wants to play baseball.

Bennie the Bean. He stands there and stares a lot in one direction.

Look at all of those potatoes!

2011 Indianapolis 500 Carb Day In Pictures

by Brian Groce on May 27, 2011

in Uncategorized

I normally spend Carb Day in the stands or down by the pits, but decided to opt for a different experience this year and spend the afternoon in turn 3, a.k.a. “The Snake Pit”, with our friends from the Smiley Morning Show on WZPL (99.5 in Indy) for their first Undy 500.

WARNING: The folks in the Snake Pit like to party and some may deem the photos offensive. But we spared you the photo of the guy who insisted on showing his uncovered back side…trust me, you should thank us for that.

That said, here are our best photos from the day.

Like a scene out of PCU…#1 or #2? Really?!?!

Indy Lights cart

These Indy Lights teams sure are efficient

The Versus set in the garage area

Dave Smiley kicking things off for the Undy 500

Producer Will

The guys are ready for the 1st Undy 500

And the group of Undy 500 participants

OK, really, who wears these sort of undies to the track?

Chorus line!

Someone joins in the fun

And it’s in the books.

KJ & Bg Kahuna. Does he have more than one pair of boxers?

Of course he did…

Can Stock Photo

by Brian Groce on April 23, 2009

in Aff Head,Brian's Blogs

If you’re running a blog or website, chances are that you use stock photography from time-to-time.  One of the services I use on occasion for my own blogs and print design work is Can Stock Photo.  Unlike some of the other options out there, Can Stock Photo is very affordable at only $1 per web resolution photo and even lower with a subscription.  And they also offer a free image which they change every so often in order to give you incentive to check out what’s new on the site.

Affiliate Program

Can Stock Photo also offers an affiliate program for anyone who signs up for an account (which is free). So if you refer a person to the site you’ll earn commission on any of their purchses for up to six months, which you can either cash out or use to purchase stock images for yourself.
