The IMUSA Asian Bamboo Steamer provides an easy and healthy way to retain flavor, vitamins, nutrients & color in your food while cooking. Simply place the steamer in a wok or saucepan, fill the wok with water to just below the rack (you don’t want your food waterlogged, do you?), place your food on the racks, put on the lid and boil the water. Count your cooking time from when the water begins to boil.
For meat you can place parchment paper on the rack to avoid sticking. Cooking times are generally 15 to 20 minutes, but as always, cook meats to their proper temperature.
I do have one warning when using a Bamboo Steamer: BE CAREFUL WHEN REMOVING THE LID. Always remember, if steam is hot enough to cook meat, it’s also hot enough to give you serious burns.
