While I find Daylight Saving Time (yes, that's Saving, singular, not Savings, plural) silly, ever since we've decided to change our clocks in Indiana, I've not been sure why we're not on Central. Arguments abound about business, and keeping up with New York City. One must assume no one in Chicago is doing business with anyone in New York City. And certainly not with Los … [Read more...] about Indiana’s Timezone
Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 Conspiracies Aboud
I like a good conspiracy as much as the next guy, and when a Boeing 777 (a.k.a. a very large plane) just vanishes, conspiracy theories are bound to pop up, but I think we can rule out these off-the-wall theories that I've seen so far. Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 got sucked into the "New Bermuda Triangle". As the theory goes, the Bermuda Triangle moved, or there's … [Read more...] about Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 Conspiracies Aboud
Bossy
We've had the PC Police running rampant for decades now, but their latest effort, banning the word "bossy", sounds like something that was conjured up on a preschool playground. I'm sure George Carlin would have a field day with this one if he were still with us. But since he's not, how about a classic quote from George. "I don't like words that hide the truth. I don't … [Read more...] about Bossy

Do your best given your situation, and be grateful for what you've been able to do with what you have at your disposal. In the end amazing things will happen. … [Read more...] about Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can.
Twitter Killed The Asides
Over a decade ago I was a blogging madman. Then I got into podcasting as well. Then somehow Twitter came in, and I found/find myself tweeting far more than I blog or podcast. That said, it is time to wrangle some of the tweets in, and put them on my own domain instead, under an old fashioned "Asides" category. Prepare yourself, for the Asides are coming. … [Read more...] about Twitter Killed The Asides
Winter 2014: A Weather Forecasters’ Nightmare
Around 4 am I received a weather alert to expect 1-2 inches of snow north of I-70. I'm south of I-70, so I'm not really concerned about it. Then around 10 am another alert comes through. It say to expect 2-3 inches of snow in Indy, possibly up to 4 inches, and that it would begin to fall in the afternoon through early evening. Around noon today I went to Meijer to pick up … [Read more...] about Winter 2014: A Weather Forecasters’ Nightmare
