The Mastrad Ice Ball Molds are pretty cool, and are excellent for a lowball glass. These are easy to fill, and fit nicely in the freezer in the included stand.
However, the set that I received to review had one of the four ice ball molds that didn’t quite seal correctly, and in four tries, it leaked every time and created half an ice ball. At around $5 each, that would disappoint me a little. Luckily the tray captured all of the escaped water, but I imagine if two of these failed you might have a frozen mess on your hands.
Also, while pricing is inline with other similar products on the market, you’d need a few sets of molds, or ample time, to create a lot of ice balls, which could get pricey in a hurry.
Overall, I really like the concept and will use them, but I am a little disappointed that the entire set didn’t work properly.
