"Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can." - Arthur Ashe This is how I take on my own life, but it is easy to get caught up in the "if I only had ________" thought process. Do your best given your situation, and be grateful for what you've been able to do with what you have at your disposal. In the end amazing things will happen. … [Read more...] about Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can.

Twitter Killed The Asides
Over a decade ago I was a blogging madman. Then I got into podcasting as well. Then somehow Twitter came in, and I found/find myself tweeting far more than I blog or podcast. That said, it is time to wrangle some of the tweets in, and put them on my own domain instead, under an old fashioned "Asides" category. Prepare yourself, for the Asides are coming. … [Read more...] about Twitter Killed The Asides
Winter 2014: A Weather Forecasters’ Nightmare
Around 4 am I received a weather alert to expect 1-2 inches of snow north of I-70. I'm south of I-70, so I'm not really concerned about it. Then around 10 am another alert comes through. It say to expect 2-3 inches of snow in Indy, possibly up to 4 inches, and that it would begin to fall in the afternoon through early evening. Around noon today I went to Meijer to pick up … [Read more...] about Winter 2014: A Weather Forecasters’ Nightmare
UPS and the Hazardous Material Irregularity
UPS and FedEx display some odd notices on occasion via their tracking system. Things such as "missed the train" or "we didn't unload the trailer because too many of you people placed orders on Black Friday & Cyber Monday and we're swamped, so you'll get it a day late" (paraphrasing of course). We can watch for the Great Pumpkin AND get sacks of candy this year. Plus we … [Read more...] about This Is Why Halloween Is Postponed

A Welcomed September Storm
This morning an excellent, and much needed, thunderstorm rolled through Indy. It was the kind of storm that lit up the sky, rocked the house, had me dreaming* that it was storming before I woke up and sent the kids scurrying into our bedroom. By the time the second wave hit later in the morning we had an inch of rain at the house, and due to the extremely dry conditions, … [Read more...] about A Welcomed September Storm
I Joined the NRA
January 16, 2013 is a historic day. For it was the day that I joined The National Rifle Association of America. While I have been a long time member of the Don't Make Me Cut You Association of America, I felt the time was right to join the NRA due to the actions I see unfolding with the illustrious leaders* of our great country. It's not that I wanted to own a gun … [Read more...] about I Joined the NRA
